Hello, fellow biologists,
for the past month, I’ve been exploring a research tool called Litmaps.
I’m writing a review paper on a super-wide topic, and Litmaps has shown to be a great asset.
If you’re writing a review paper, it’s extremely important to not miss out on papers that are relevant to your field.
This is a research visualization tool that allows you to speed up your literature review and see the connections between different papers.
Unlike searching through literature with Google Scholar, where you have to go paper by paper and figure out 1 by 1 how they relate to each other, Litmaps allows you to immediately see which papers are:
the most cited by others
the oldest classics in the field
the most build upon in further research
And also how they connect to each other.
This 30-second tutorial will directly teach you how to save tons of time in your search.
In case you don’t have me on Linkedin, do add me HERE.
In case you don’t have Linkedin at all and don’t want to make one, I attached here the short PDF tutorial for you to download.
Next time I’ll talk about crafting better academic CVs.
Take care, everyone,
Kenan
